Dreamers – Step Up Your Game

Why are we here? What have we been taught through custom and tradition?

I’ve never easily accepted being a part of the societal mould that everyone thinks is normal. I can’t even describe what normal is. Growing up my high school was full of people with red, green, and blue mohawks, chains dangling from their pants, spike collars around their wrists and necks, and piercings anywhere you can imagine. There were about 20 hugs a day, regular outbursts of song and dance – anyone would have thought they were in a musical! And, then there was the “field” where everyone went to enjoy the sunshine, play pass with a Frisbee, sit in circles to sing, drums, play guitars or just listen… and a few of us would be dazed out contemplating returning back to class after lunch break. Not because we didn’t want to, mostly because it wouldn’t have been responsible. That my friends, is what you call an oxymoron.

All I know is that my adolescence was not what my parents wanted it to be. I didn’t really fit in, and school wasn’t my favourite after being bullied. I had a couple of bad relationships that lead me to being quite depressed, and I didn’t graduate with everything I needed because I was more focused on the arts than I was with my academics. Good thing I didn’t let my past control my future! 😉

Poetry 1All I know is that we weren’t brought onto this earth to be average.

We don’t just wear these meat puppets to just watch time go by – yes I am referring to our skin-, we deserve more than LIVING TO WORK the typical 9-5, and I personally would rather WORK to LIVE!

Do you ever WONDER what else is out there…? If I may… We are wearing these gorgeous organ protectors to do everything that we ever wanted to do in human form. This is our chance to live out our dreams and give our SOUL A CHANCE to pursue it’s purpose here on earth.

At times we are dreamers with huge brainstorming bubbles of MAGICAL IDEAS that we desire to CREATE. At times, we are being watched and held accountable to our GOALS that we “want” so bad. This is the time to shine! We need to step up to our dreams & CREATE them. No more waiting around, wishing and wanting, but actually stepping up and creating the magic that needs to happen. It might be a long marathon, but not as long as the life you’ve already lived.

There is A REASON why we are here, and WHY we feel JOY from the things that our soul speaks so fondly of. It’s because our purpose is to do more of what makes us feel good. ❤  Whether we need to enjoy the scenery, reflect, and embrace the moments that we willingly let pass by… or do what it takes to live with PASSION and be exactly who we are meant to be. It’s always going to be a choice to take action. So step up and Live the life you Deserve.

Stronger – than He who Broke My Heart

A fancy piece that I created with Yves / D’Onofrio photography

And just for fun… because I’m stronger;
I’m the one who learned to build a heart made of armor,
The one who had to learn to be alone;
I’m that woman who chose to cut loose, to burn free, to chase what seems impossible.

And just for fun… because I’m braver;
I keep in touch to feel the hot coals smolder,
I post my success to show that my fire wasn’t smothered,
I breathe in the hunger of what I used to give to you.

So just for fun… because I’m wiser;
I’ll look at what it was but never again grab hold,
I’ll dance a fiery rhythm and try not to scold,
For I know now that this is just a waiting game and we can’t tame a wild flame.

And because I love, just for fun…
I’ll be like water; relentless, obsessive, reflective, manipulative, persistent…
My encounters will be strategic, and I will want to bare ours souls.
I’m not one for lighthearted chit-chat, what I crave I had and I let go.

Intense. Smoldering. Memories that burn.
I feel things deeply and forever, and now it’s your turn.
I have faith that you will find your way;
broken, torn, gasping for air… Breath, this is a new beginning.

Soiled. Smeared. Extinguished.
Here is your soot covered pen; write your story on somebody else.

The Trespassers movie

While I was in Canada, just before the big move to Australia I was offered a role in a local, independent short film based out of the Alberta countryside. I worked amongst Monica LeBlond, Hans Potter, Graham Mothershill, Eddy Saadeh, Joshua Lee Coss, and Owen Bishop. The film was directed by Grant Leon Smith.

This was definitely an interesting piece to work on. It was extremely cold outside during the blizzards and dry snow season, but we started filming it in Autumn. Anyone notice any continuity errors? Due to the low budget, there was very basic film equipment used, but it was a chance for Grant Smith to direct and record a vision he has had for a while. The The Trespassers Teaser Trailer gives you a 49 second clip to see what the gist of the short film is about. You even have the option of streaming the final production for $3.

Now I know it sounds like I am trying to sell it to you, and in a way I kind of am. That’s what we are supposed to do, isn’t it? Spread the word through social media, especially if it is a project that we’ve worked on with other like-minded creatives! Proud moment, mum! *wink*

Check out The Trespassers Poster Mock Up that we used to advertise it. If you do watch it, or feel like sharing independent projects, please share this with someone. Our entire team is very appreciative, in advance!

Love, peace, and glowing-flowing positive energy your way! ~Ashley x

Ashley Tallas is an actress, known for The Corrupted (2010), The Profane Exhibit (2013) and Case Study of Zacheriah (2011). She started studying theater acting, singing, and a variety of dancing in Canada at Victoria Composite High School of Performing and Visual Arts (1999-2007). Knowing that this was a passion of hers, she pursued theater by joining The Edmonton Fringe Festival in the performance: Solitude (2007), directed by Grant Pulay. She then submerged into Theatre Sports by attending classes at Rapid Fire Theater and teaching beginner Improv at the Saint Albert Children’s Theater (2008). She has also appeared in national commercials for clients Integra Tire and Century Park condominiums.

This all occurred before her big move to Australia in 2012 when Ashley blossomed into a network marketing butterfly, winning the title Miss Social Network (November 2012), and also gained exposure through her free-lance modeling network. Even though her main focus was on University and her following career, she pursued acting and modeling which has helped her gain exposure in Singapore and Australia.

This girl is looking forward to what the Universe brings her way. She is ready to jump forward with her ‘Can Do’ attitude by continuing to grow as an artist and fine tuning her body as the main instrument she uses.
